Breastfeeding Class
This class offering is for those mom's new to the art of breastfeeding, pregnant or no longer pregnant, as well as those "veteran" moms who would like to share their experiences and support other breastfeeding moms. Mothers who are in the hospital at this time may join the class. Feel free to bring your baby if you have already delivered. The guests of honor are...the babies!
Through discussion with group, video, overhead transparencies and handouts you will learn:
- Prenatal preparation
- Physiology of breastfeeding
- Getting started
- Overcoming difficulties
- Storing breastmilk
- Going back to work while breastfeeding
- Choices in breastpumps
- Choosing a daycare which supports breastfeeding and weaning
All breastfeeding classes are free to all and are held in the hospital auditorium
