Counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy, palliative care, ostomy, prosthetics, and integrative therapies are all key parts of successful cancer therapy available to Beloit Health System patients.
At Beloit Health System's Cancer Center, we recognize that modern, effective cancer treatment involves not just traditional medicine, but support services that benefit the whole patient.
Counseling offers a critical means of support to cancer patients at Beloit Health System's Cancer Center. Our professional staff can help patients and their families learn to cope with the life changes inherent in a cancer diagnosis. Counseling helps patients understand and cope with the emotions that come with cancer, and improves patient/doctor communication. Through individual and group counseling, cancer patients and their loved ones get help with the emotional and physical side effects of both disease and treatment. Beloit Health System offers counseling because we care about the total patient, and recognize the life-changing nature of a cancer diagnosis.
The Beloit Cancer Center also offers the assistance of a social worker to patients who have questions on social services, financial counseling, or community resources. Please call 608-364-5253 if you would like to meet with Kirsten Holloway, social worker.
