Diabetes Education Class held at Beloit Hospital.
• This one day course provides several sessions of group instruction for people with diabetes and their significant other.
• A multi-disciplinary team of instructors, including registered nurses who are certified diabetes educators, a dietitian, a counselor, and a pharmacist, will lead discussion on how to cope and effectively manage this chronic disease.
• Topics of instruction include: Hyperglycemia/Hypoglycemia; Blood Glucose Monitoring; Nutrition/Meal Planning; Medications; Complications (acute and chronic); Coping with Chronic Disease; Foot Care; Sick Day Guidelines and a report of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial.
Continental breakfast and lunch provided.
