Beloit Health System has been caring for area families for 50 years and will recognize this milestone over the next year, kicking off with the community celebration event and Baby Homecoming, which will feature special activities for those born at BHS. The celebration will also include big giveaways and prizes, food, live entertainment, DJ Kevin Burns’ Good Vibrations, The Fun One's carnival rides, engaging patient experience tours, a live painting, and many local performances.
“We invite everyone to come out to help us kick off our 50th year, but also to thank them for their support and trust,” said Tim McKevett, CEO of Beloit Health System. “We look forward to sharing this special day with the community we serve and celebrating the past, present, and future of the health system.”
The event will begin at noon with live local performances on the hour. Guests can also participate in a guided “choose your adventure” tour of the hospital and get their “adventure passport” checked off for visiting highlighted destinations and completing activities. Completed passports can be entered to win great prizes. Additional event activities include decorating your own cupcake, participating in a live collaborative painting, getting your picture snapped at the photo booth, and visiting the health system activity tables for education and fun.
Beloit Health System opened at its current location in 1970. Since then, the hospital has expanded by partnering with Beloit Clinic, partnered with the University of Wisconsin to provide comprehensive cancer care, improved access to holistic care by opening NorthPointe Wellness, and enhanced its cardiology services by opening the Hendricks Family Heart Hospital. Now, 50 years later and with nearly 1600 employees, BHS is still a strong and independent health system providing the best care for the community it loves.
