Congratulations Megan!

Congratulations to our latest recipient of the DAISY Award, Megan Weber! We are excited to celebrate Megan, our exceptional nurse, who has been recognized for her relentless dedication and commitment to our patients. Alongside the supportive family who nominated her, Megan was celebrated by her colleagues, leaders, and friends.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.

Megan is an RN in our CICU and demonstrated compassion, relief, and exceptional care during a time of tremendous stress. Megan displayed the highest standards of care, dedicating herself to the well-being of her patients.

A patient wrote the following about Megan:

“As a patient in ICU, my wife was suffering from the effects of sepsis and her heart needed special treatment. My wife's nurse, Megan Weber, along with a cardiologist performed the necessary treatment and restored normal heartbeat. This treatment was administered twice on September 23, 2023. Megan then explained to me in terms I could understand, what took place during the treatment. She was exceptional in her skill and compassion. She made my wife and I feel special during a very stressful time. Megan Weber is very deserving of this special award.”
