Yesterday, the Beloit Health System presented its application for a Certificate of Need (CON) permit to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to establish a NorthPointe Neighborhood Hospital. While the proposal did not achieve the six votes required for approval, it will be reconsidered at the next Board meeting in January 2025. The proposal includes a 10-bed hospital and a new Emergency Room to address the community’s pressing healthcare needs.
“We are disappointed by the Board’s decision but respect the review process and take their feedback to heart,” said Dr. Roger Kapoor, Senior Vice President. “Our commitment to essential healthcare services remains strong. We believe a local hospital and Emergency Room are vital, and we remain fully committed to this project.”
"As we move forward with our project, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our community for their incredible support,” said Tim McKevett, President and CEO of Beloit Health System, “With over 1,400 signatures on our petition and more than 200 passionate attendees at the public hearing, it is clear that our vision resonates deeply with the people we serve. Thank you to the leaders of the South Beloit, Roscoe, Rockton communities, including our dedicated police and fire chiefs, for standing with us. Together, we will continue to relentlessly advocate for our community members, ensuring they have the access to the care they need and deserve."
In the coming months, the Beloit Health System will work diligently to strengthen its application while actively encouraging community members to share their feedback on its proposal. Thank you for your continued support as we move forward in this important initiative.
