Beloit Health System Announces Telehealth Is Now Available

BELOIT, WI. – Telehealth is now available for Beloit Health System providers. As part of Beloit Health Systems' response and preparation to Covid-19, this technology ensures ongoing access to care, while supporting important social distancing measures set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Providers will be able to use everyday health-related services and information via electronic information and telecommunication technologies to effectively communicate with telehealth patients.

“By offering this important service, a greater number of people, especially the older generation, will be able to access more healthcare needs from home, alleviating the worry of putting themselves or others at risk during the Covid-19 event. We are grateful to those who have made these actions possible, and our hope is that many will take advantage of these options,” commented Roger Kapoor, MD, CMO, Senior Vice President.

Telehealth allows for long-distance patient and clinician contact, education, monitoring, advice, and care.

The CDC defines close contact as being within approximately 6 feet of a person with infection with COVID-19 case for a prolonged period of time. Because COVID-19 is most commonly spread through respiratory droplets, the public should follow recommended precautions to prevent the spread of the flu and other viruses, including vigilant hand washing, avoiding touching your face, staying at home if you are feeling sick, and covering coughs and sneezes.
It is important to make sure the information you are getting about COVID-19 is coming directly from reliable sources such as the CDC and BHS. For more information, please visit the CDC’s website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus and the BHS website at www.beloithealthsystem.org

As public health remains the top priority, proactive steps that the health system is currently taking include:

  • Prescreening protocol is in effect, please call our designated hotline at: 800.303.5770.
  • No Visitors are allowed in the hospital with a few exceptions.
