The Joint Commission, in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, recently recognized Beloit Health System as achieving certification as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Achievement of Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification signifies an organization’s dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients. Beloit Health System’s Certification has demonstrated that their program meets critical elements of performance to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes for stroke patients.
“We underwent a rigorous on-site review in September,” states Doris Mulder, Vice President of Beloit Health System. “A Joint Commission expert reviewed our compliance and outcomes with the requirements for this certification program such as collecting core measure data and using it for performance improvement activities. The surveyors were impressed by the staff and physicians, and particularly the outcomes our team has achieved.”
Certification is a voluntary process and The Joint Commission commends Beloit Health System for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.
“Beloit Health System is thoroughly committed to providing our patients the highest level of stroke care to ensure continued improvement in treatment,” said Tim McKevett, President and CEO of Beloit Health System. “The accreditation highlights the exceptional stroke care we provide because our residents deserve the best.”
