BELOIT, WI. (March 12, 2020) – Beloit Health System (BHS) has been taking action to ensure the safety of patients, staff and the public. All efforts are being made to keep BHS patients, employees, and the community as healthy as possible at this time. “We are taking all measures to best inform and protect the health of patients, team members, and the public. This is not a time to panic, but a time to take necessary precautions,” commented Tim McKevett, BHS President and CEO.
Due to the seriousness of the COVID-19 outbreak, BHS encourages the public to follow guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). BHS has been taking steps to educate and inform the public, to include the Covid-19 seminar held this week. Dr. Vijaya Somaraju, BHS Infectious Disease Specialist and Rock County Health Department Board Member noted, “There is strong coordination among the county, the city, and across local municipalities. Practice meticulous hand hygiene and keep your family safe.”
As public health remains the top priority, proactive steps that the health system is currently taking include:
“The City is proud of our highly collaborative approach to COVID-19 with our health partners and the School District of Beloit. The City will not be hosting events that anticipate 50 or more attendees in close quarters and are encouraging other groups to do the same. We are also limiting out-of-state work-related travel.
