Electric Vehicle Charging Station Improves Convenience for Patients and Families

Friday, January 27, 2017

(BELOIT, WI) January 27, 2017 – In December, Beloit Hospital installed a Level 2, dual-prong vehicle charging station on the hospital grounds. The charging station provides a convenient re-charging area for employees and visitors who drive electric powered vehicles.

The installation qualified the health system for Alliant Energy’s rebate program that encourages employers to provide charging access for employees. Alliant Energy created the rebate program in 2016 to increase the convenience and affordability of driving electric vehicles.

Beloit Hospital is one of the the first commercial business to receive the incentive in Rock County. By installing this charging station, Beloit Health System enabled employees to double their vehicles' all-electric daily commuting range. The charging station also is available to patient families and visitors and is listed on the PlugShare.com website.

Alliant Energy’s rebate program is open to commercial and industrial customers who purchase and install a Level 2, fast charging station. The incentive is $1,000 for a single plug-in unit or $1,500 for a dual-prong unit. Alliant Energy also offers a $500 rebate for residential customers to install a Level 2 charging station at their home.
