Beloit Health System has is hiring for a Certified Surgical First Assistant.

The Surgical Assistant is responsible for assisting in surgery by providing exposure, traction, and other technical functions under the direct supervision of the surgeon. This Surgical Assistant will use instrumentation, suturing, and prepare for hemostasis in an anticipatory manner under direct supervision of surgeon. The Surgical Assistant will participate in room set-up by ensuring all required supplies, equipment, and instrumentation are available for procedure. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility and independent prioritization. This Surgical Assistant will proactively assist others with minimal supervision (case pulling, maintaining supplies, and surgical environment)

Required:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical first assistant program with completion of Certification within 2 years.

• Must be available for on-call requirements

• BLS required within 3 months of hire

• Adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth in the department and hospital
